Illinois Emerging Writers Competition Judges Needed

The Illinois Emerging Writers Competition (http://illinoiscenterforthebook.org/projects/projectsb.html) was created by Secretary of State and State Librarian Jesse White to promote creative writing and  provide a unique opportunity to recognize new literary talent.  The competition offers two divisions – the Gwendolyn Brooks Poetry Award and the James Jones Short Story Award-and is open to any Illinois resident 18 years of age and older.  Winners receive cash prizes and have their works submitted for review and possible publication in several Illinois literary magazines. The deadline to enter is June 30.
