In planning for resource sharing in the future, I would like the committee to consider issuing library cards for member libraries who are NOT part of the LLSAP. As a member of the system and an associate member of the LLSAP, I pay a small fee to access interlibrary loan from the LLSAP. This allows me to request ILL books through the OPAC. However, I am unable to walk into the same libraries and take out a book. By having a card, I would be able to save system cost (book would not have to be delivered), library staff time (they would not have to fulfill a holds request), and waiting time for the item. Although requesting the books through the OPAC is usually the most efficient method for me, it is not always the most efficient method.
